Is there any difference? Amazon is selling the 'For Windows' version while Newegg is selling the regular 360 version (same price). I would prefer to get it from Newegg since I can return products to their warehouse in Toronto in case of defects. But I don't want to get it if the 'For Windows' version is superior. I've read some stuff about the firmware being different in the normal 360 version.
Xbox 360 Controller Driver 0.16.10 for Mac OS X The Xbox 360 console software is updated periodically with new features, download the latest firmware to take advantage of them. XBox 360 Controller Driver allows you to use wired XBox 360 Controllers via USB, and wireless XBox 360 Controllers via the Microsoft Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows, on your OS X machine, including support for the Apple Force Feedback library. The driver is licenced under the GPL.
I don't console game, so this will be used exclusively for PC gaming. I want this to work flawlessly with all of my games. I previously used a Logitech F310 but the RB button broke after a few months of light use. I'd like to try something different, and I prefer offset analog placement anyway. And before anyone decides to be a wise ass and ask me why I'm using a controller on the PC, I'd like to remind you that there are other genres of games apart from FPSs, RTSs, and MOBAs.
